“I believe that nothing is impossible – there’s nothing you can’t create from flowers. At the end of the day, who says that a bride has to have a bridal bouquet? Why can’t she have a necklace, bracelet or an extraordinary head piece?”
I “met” Benjamina as soon as I started using instagram. Every photo she published was a dose of inspiration and, among many clicks of trips to the beach and her little daughter, so spontaneous and funny, she showed her wonderful work as floral designer. Based in London, through indeco, she not only works with flowers for weddings, but also editorial, art gallery, creation of accessories and everything that involves flowers.
Luckily, she accepted my invitation for an interview (yey!) and below is a little more about this brilliant person:
What is the coolest part for you about working with flowers?
The best (coolest) part working with flowers is the freedom of creating something different and unique. Couple years ago I envisage this fresh flower accessory ( flower necklace) and thought how cool would be for someone to wear something beautiful and scented on the neck instead of wearing a stones, even if they are precious stones. Since then I have gone from fresh flower necklaces to crowns, scarves, bras and many more as I call ‘crazy flowers”. I obsoletely adore the fact that there are no limits what you can create from fresh blooms. Just love it. The other big passion of mine is collaborating with artist photographers and bloggers, this part requires loads of creativity and loads of my time.
Your work involves a lot of creativity. Where do you find inspiration?
Anywhere and everywhere, I love nature, so I take a lot from there, from simple walk in a woods, stroll on a seaside or a simple road trip- you can find so much inspiration you just need to open your eyes! I love photography so I look for inspiration by visiting gallery’s, in fashion photo-shoots, fashion magazines.
What is your favorite flower?
Oh gosh ….I have so many….. and from time to time I’m discovering new types of flowers I love. Today I would say I love Hellebore, this time of the year here in Uk they in best season.
You usually read blogs? If yes, what is your favorite?
I read a lot of blogs, if I have time, but wouldn’t like to pick one favorite, they all unique and feeds my creative mind in different ways.
Could you tell us what songs are you currently listening to?
I’m living on sound cloud at the moment so no songs in particular I would pick but electronic house or chill out mixes are on, which reminds me of hot holidays and helps me to survive the rainy winter in London.
Could you describe what are the colors more present in your home decor?
I’m graduated Interior designer, so for me décor is so important, it’s the other passion of mine- beautiful home! every room in my house is unique and different, I love quirky and unusual things, like to use things in the ways people wouldn’t even think of using.
My hallway is moss green with one wall of bird wallpaper on, I just love that pattern, one of the kind, shoe box is vintage wooden veg box painted in washed grey.
Kitchen is electric candy green, that’s how I would call this color, bought this beautiful black and white tribal rug to compliment the look.
Dinning room has clear Perspex chairs with chunky wooden table, love this contrast of shapes and materials, over all color is latte, have one wall completely full of framed family pictures- such a treat to see them every day!
Living room is yet again different from the rest of the house, leather armchair, Chesterfield sofa with loads of colorful and different cushions, real cow rug and widow sills covered in fresh orchids. As this room is huge I decided to have every wall different it varies from blush pink to deep chalk grey, one wall I painted in a pastel die style when top of the wall is light clay and bottom is dark clay. But my favorite here is tulip wallpaper wall.
For the art in the house I mainly have little human drawings which I adore.
What do you like most about your bedroom?
My bedroom is one unfinished project but most coolest I would say. I have a head board painted by hand and I absolutely love it, its my interpretation of perfect head board, once I had my painting instead and enjoyed that look for some time too.
Planning to get a proper grey head board, one of the biggest to make it an statement but at the moment just love it as it is. Walls are painted in settle blues, furniture is whites and greys, love the vintage mirror I’ve painted frame in white and rested on the pile of garden flower books. On the side table I have settle blue vase filled with fairy lights, other side table is a vintage dark wooden chair. Miss-match here I love.

When you come to visit the Brazilian beaches?
This was a second time I’ve visited the Caribbean beaches, but it was a first time I went for winter sun and absolutely loved every minute there. It’s a real paradise, such a contrast to Great Britain, most definitely will travel again. For Brazil I have not been, but I’m sure it’s just beautiful!
